Variety of Opportunities
-
Ministry and Construction Project: These projects have traditionally been focused on either ministry – participating in local church initiatives, or construction – of schools, houses or church buildings. Both of these are for the purpose of facilitating and supporting the ministry objectives of our national church partners. These projects tend to be two weeks long and are assigned to Canadian church teams. They help to reach out to different people groups and to improve the quality of life of the individuals served.
-
Mission Education Teams: These teams visit our Global Field Staff and national church partners on the field with the aim of gaining greater missional understanding in a global setting and building relationships with leaders of emerging churches. As a secondary benefit, these trips will be structured to enable the participants to grow in their leadership skills, their missional confidence and their global perspective in hopes of invigorating their own ministries and churches in Canada.
-
Specialized Teams: CBM receives requests from our international church partners for short term teams for a specific purpose. These include teams of professors and teachers to provide seminars for local church leaders and teachers, and teams of other professionals to assist in particular ventures such as youth work, community health, or agricultural specialties. These teams tend to be small groups with a specific focus consistent with CBM’s core values to teach, train, and participate in the ministry of the local church body for its enriching and strengthening.
-
Individuals: Some individuals go out for at least three months up to two years working with our Global Field Staff and national church partners in either direct ministry assignments or indirect support roles. They participate in specialized assignments such as teaching in schools, teaching ESL, curriculum development, translation or using their expertise in another professional field such as computers. Please note, Individuals applying for these types of trips must have had at least one previous international short term experience.
*CBM reserves the right to cancel projects or deny participation of teams or individuals at any time.
