Malcolm and Patty Card have returned to Canada after working as Global Field Staff in Kenya since 2004. Malcolm acted as Team Leader. Patty coordinated the Guardians of Hope HIV/AIDS program. As of July 1,  Malcolm has been appointed Interim General Secretary until the new General Secretary, Sam Chaise, begins October 1. They will continue as Global Field Staff on home assignment until the end of the year.

The Cards served in Indonesia with CBM from 1974-1982. Returning to Canada, Malcolm worked in the CBM head office from 1982-1998 as Director for Africa and subsequently Personnel Director.

Patty Card was born in Massachusetts and has a B.S. Ed degree from Gordon College. Her subsequent training and experience has been in the area of Early Childhood education. Most recently she worked as a counselor for children and adolescents at the Woodstock Mental Health centre.

Malcolm was born and raised in New Brunswick. He is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Seminary and earned a D. Min. degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. From 1998 until their appointment with CBM, Malcolm pastored at Woodstock United Baptist Church while also serving as Adjunct Professor with Carey Theological Seminary.

They have three grown children: Cheryl, Sarah, and Robert.
