Jim and Diane McBeth are CBM Field Staff assigned to Cochabamba Bolivia. Jim serves as the Latin America Team Leader. His role is to help facilitate ministries with Field Staff and CBM’s partner, the Bolivian Baptist Union (BBU). Diane works in the design, implementation and monitoring of community development programs.

They were appointed by CBM as Global Field
Staff in February of 2004 for service to Angola.
Jim and Diane served in leadership development alongside CBM’s partner, the Angolan Evangelical Church (IEA). After a time of discernment regarding future ministry options, the McBeths, in consultation with CBM, were reassigned in Sept 2009 to Latin America.

Jim was born and raised in London, Ontario, and came to faith in Christ at the age of 20, after getting involved in a Christian youth ministry. Diane was born in Montreal, and subsequently lived with her family in Winnipeg, Toronto, and London. She first came to Christ at the age of 13 when she started attending People’s Church in Toronto. In 1974, Jim and Diane both became actively involved at King Street United Church in London and were married in 1976.

In 1978, Jim received a call into pastoral ministry and enrolled at the University of Western Ontario where he and Diane became involved in ministry with the Navigators. In 1980 they moved to Toronto, and Jim graduated from Ontario Theological Seminary (now Tyndale) in 1983. Jim and Diane have since served in three BCOQ churches: Immanuel, Toronto; Inniswood, Barrie; and Harmony, in Hamilton.

The McBeths went to Mozambique for a month-long mission trip in the summer of 2001 where they helped in an orphanage in Zimpeto. Diane has since been back to Mozambique twice.

Jim enjoys playing piano and guitar, and working on the computer. Diane has taught folk art painting classes, and enjoys cooking and painting.

The McBeths have 5 children, Ryan, Nicole, Renee, Amy and Pedrito. The three oldest adult children will continue to remain in Canada, Amy attends university in the US and Pedrito accompanies them in Bolivia.
