This June, Canada will host the G8/G20 Global Summit to discuss matters related to the global economy, development, the environment, and international security. Prior to the political summit, religious leaders from around the world will gather at the University of Winnipeg to talk about the challenges facing humanity and to finalize an interfaith statement, A Time for Inspired Leadership and Action, to be delivered to the political leaders. A draft of this statement, as well as a number of faith-based responses to it, can be found at http://www.faithchallengeg8.com/responses_en.html.
Dr. Lois Mitchell, CBM’s Justice Initiatives Coordinator, will be part of the official Canadian delegation at the 2010 World Religions Summit in Winnipeg. Click here to read her response to the interfaith statement. Click here to read more at her blog.
