Indonesia
Bill and Janice Dyck are presently in the middle of a ministry trip to Manado on the island of Sulawesi. Bill is teaching an intensive course on Mobilizing the Church for Ministry to about 40 local pastors and Master of Theology students, and Janice is speaking at women’s meetings. Bill will also be speaking in chapel services at the Indonesian Theological Seminary and in churches on the weekends. This is a huge challenge for both of them, but also a tremendous opportunity that we pray will become a blessing to everyone involved.

Rwanda
Our own Lois Mitchell, and Catherine Morris of Peacemakers’ Trust leave for Rwanda this week. They will be working with CBM field staff and the Baptist Association of Rwanda to evaluate and plan for ministries of reconciliation and social healing. Sixteen years after the genocide, Rwanda continues to be challenged by deep levels of trauma, resentment and divisions. The church that kneels at the cross recognizes the destructive power of violence and the creative potential of God’s Spirit to bring the power of resurrection to bear through confronting evil, bringing healing – and offering forgiveness and reconciliation. Please wrap our partner, staff and Canadian representatives in your prayers.

Lebanon
Rupen Das is involved in a team that is developing training materials to be offered over the internet and TV for house church leaders in North Africa and the Middle East. Rupen’s focus is on how churches can maximize their efforts to address poverty in their communities and enhance the witness of the local church. Ask God’s wisdom and direction for Rupen and the team as they guide and encourage pastors and church leaders in the technological ways of the future.
